Spring Banquet
Change their world. Change your world.
About Ron Hall
While my daddy was fightin´ in the Pacific, my grandmother delivered me in the farmhouse in Texas, in September 1945. I grew up in the bed of my granddad’s pickup till it was time to go to school.
In 1969, I married Deborah Short, my college sweetheart and become a municipal bond trader at the local bank. In 1971, on a mission to buy bonds, I happened on an art gallery where I bought my first original oil painting. Eighty-nine days later, under pressure, I sold it for a $2,000 profit, accidentally launching my art career.
My days were filled with ranching, team roping, cowboy poetry and anything else Debbie asked me to do, like being Denver’s friend.

Hundreds of men, women and children find a bed at Miracle Hill Ministries each night. Without our facilities, these individuals and families would be left to find shelter on the streets or under a bridge, vulnerable, and with no one to show them the compassion of Christ.

Ron Hall, Co-author of the novel Same Kind of Different As Me
EVENT OVERVIEW
Join us at the Carolina First Center on Thursday, April 22, for a night of camaraderie, compassion and charitable giving as guest speaker Ron Hall shares his incredible story of pain and brutality turned to an unexpected love.
Same Kind of Different As Me is the tale of a dangerous, homeless drifter, an upscale art dealer and the unlikely meeting that became life-changing. Also centering around a gutsy woman who made it all possible, the story of these men, one accustomed to picking cotton in virtual slavery and the other to the world of Armani and Chanel, is a powerful tribute to dreams and making a lasting difference.
